Menstrual disorders, chronic pelvic pain, and hormonal imbalances affect a significant number of women and can severely impact daily life, relationships, and wellbeing. Yet these symptoms are often under-reported or fragmented across multiple consultations, leaving women without a clear, consistent pathway to care. With long waits in gynaecology and variation in service delivery, there is a pressing need for validated tools that capture both the clinical and quality-of-life impact of these conditions.
ePAQ-MPH is a validated digital questionnaire designed to capture patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for women with menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, or hormonal-related gynaecological symptoms. It records both the frequency and severity of symptoms and measures their effect on health-related quality of life, across four key domains:
Menstrual symptoms - e.g. dysmenorrhoea, heavy bleeding
Pelvic pain – chronic or cyclical pain, impact on daily function
Hormonal symptoms – PMS, hypo-oestrogenism, and related effects
Sexual symptoms – impact of symptoms on intimacy and sexual function
It's dynamic design adapts to each patient’s responses, ensuring a personalised, clinically rigorous assessment that mirrors a real consultation while reducing the time spent in clinic. Developed and validated in collaboration with NHS clinicians and academics, ePAQ-MPH is supported by peer-reviewed research confirming its role in improving disclosure, supporting safe decision-making, and even assessing potential harm in long-waiting patients.
